Aloo paratha is a type of breakfast dish originated from Punjab

This dish is popular in western , central, northern India and can be made in two ways, you can make like how you make paratha, or you can fry like puri.

This dish is well suited with Tomato sauce which is available readymade as tomato ketchup and I also have one tomato chutney recipe which you can make at home.

This Chutney recipe is specially famous in north Indian families and I would be glad to share with you so that you can also try this tasty chutney.

Aloo paratha recipe contain potato as a main ingredient and it is mixed with green coriander leaves, ginger garlic and it gives a mind blowing flavour believe me you will be liking it the most.

So it is highly recommended to make aloo paratha according to the recipe which I am sharing and also tomato chutney if you want to make it at home then it would be a good option to try mine recipe of chutney.

Otherwise most of people like to have it with tomato ketchup available in tha market or with schezwan chutney or sometimes with curd depends on person to person.

So, Here I am sharing my mouth watering breakfast, Aloo paratha.

  • Aloo (potato) 1 kg
  • Tomato
  • Green coriander leaves
  • Curry leaves
  • Panch Phoron 2 pinch
  • Green chilli
  • Turmeric
  • Salt to taste
  • Ginger
  • Jaggery
  • Garlic
  • Cumin seed
  • Asafoetida (Hing)
  • Oil


•Boil the potato in pressure cooker for 2-3 whistle

•Take out potatoes and mash it

•In a mixer grinder,Add coriander leaves,ginger,garlic,green chilli,cumin seed

•Add little water and grind till smooth paste

•Take a pan, Add 4-5 tablespoon oil

•Add some curry leaves, Panch Phoron, and the grinded paste after that add half tablespoons turmeric

•Cook until the oil separates

•Add the mashed potato, salt according to your taste

•Garnish with coriander leaves

•And the paste is ready

•Now Take wheat flour in a container, Add water in proper proportion and make a dough

•Take a small dough, Add the paste and roll it to make a circle

•Serve hot with tomato chutney or ketchup


• Cut tomato finely

•In a pan,Add finely chopped ginger garlic and green chilli also Panch Phoron

•Then Add tomatoes

•Add little salt so that tomato get cooked

•When tomatoes get melt properly, Add half bowl jaggery

•Cook on low flame for 5 mins

•Tomatoes should be finely chopped

•Do not add jaggery in more quantity

•The dough shouldn’t be tight.
