Onion bhajiya most of us also called it pakora or onion fritters.

This bhajiya can be made as evening snacks or can be preferred at the breakfast.

This fritters (bhajia) is mostly made in North Indian families but nevertheless, It is one of the favourite snacks for almost everybody of us.

This crunchy fried snack is made more in monsoon seasons most of us have the craving for it in monsoon.

To have hot onion fritters with a combination of green chutney while outside it is raining and having it with watching our favourite serials, web series or movies.

This scenario is observed in my house so yes I think almost all of us have the same.

Sometimes we don’t wait for the monsoon to have a nice crispy onion Pakoda, we Make it casually irrespective of the climate, I personally don’t wait for the season whenever I have the craving of eating soo, I make it.

This snack hardly takes 30 mins of preparation time and within 30 mins you will get a mind-blowing snack.

This onion fritters, Ingredient which is required in high quantity is onion and believe my it doesn’t take much more ingredients the things which we need to make it is already available at our house.

I will be sharing my recipe for you all and hope you will be liking it.

  • Onion
  • Gram flour (Besan)
  • Rice flour (Optional)
  • Ginger garlic and chilli paste
  • Carom seed (Ajwain)half tablespoon
  • Turmeric
  • Salt
  • Tomatoes/Tamarind for chutney
  • Green Coriander leaves
  • Red chilli powder


•Take a chopping pad And make a long thin slice of onion

•In a container, Add gram flour

•Add 2-3 tablespoons rice flour

•Add sliced onion, ginger garlic and chilli paste

•Red chilli powder, Turmeric, salt, Add coriander leaves and ajwain (carom seed)

•Add water and make its paste (Do not make it watery)

For Chutney:

•Take a mixer grinder, add coriander leaves, chilli, garlic, ginger, salt and one tomato and grind it finely

•Serve the hot onion fritter with green chutney

•Onion should be sliced in a long position don’t cut finely

•In chutney you can add tamarind in substitution of tomatoes

•Make a paste before 10-15 mins of frying

•Many people add baking soda also, but I avoid it because it soaks oil in a high proportion

•You can add roasted chana in chutney to make it less watery
