This mumbai special toast sandwich recipe will definitely bring waters in your mouth and you will be having more craving to eat when you make them at home in a easiest and tastiest way.

This recipe is filled with flavors such as sweet, salty, spicy, savory! It includes beetroot, potato, cucumber, capsicum, Amul butter with the goodness of cilantro chutney (green chutney).

This recipe is very popular street food in mumbai which is served as breakfast or snack, Not only this toast sandwich, there are varieties of sandwiches which is served in Mumbai city.

I am sharing the easiest and tastiest sandwich which can be made easily and it is one of my favourite recipe which. I always use to prefer during my college days when me and my friends forgot our tiffin or many times we just have crave of eating so we just go and east after our colleges use to get over.

This recipe is something which is liked by almost everyone and especially those who are health conscious because this snack is very healthy you can customize them according to your own will like the vegetables you can add which is healthy and you like them such as onion, tomatoes, cucumber, beetroot, capsicum and if you’re very much conscious about your health that you avoid eating bread which is made up of all purpose flour (Maida) You can definitely get wheat flour bread which is known as brown bread.

This veggies in the sandwich not only enhance the taste and flavor even though they are good for our health and it can be given to kids in their lunch box, even they would also love to take sandwich with them in tiffin which is something different and tastiest.

Coriander chutney which is added as a base can be replace with schezwan chutney also but I prefer coriander chutney because you can use them as base also plus you can serve the sandwiches with green chutney and ketchup, And there isn’t any worries you can make them 1 day prior and keep them at fridge or if the chutney is left you can keep them store them in refrigerator and can use them other day with pakora, chats etc.

Instead of adding normal salt, Always use black salt or chat masala in sandwich this will definitely enhance the flavor and taste in sandwich and it is one of the most important ingredient.

  • Potato
  • Beetroot
  • Onion
  • Cucumber
  • Capsicum
  • Tomatoes
  • Coriander leaves
  • Ginger
  • Garlic
  • Mustard seeds
  • Green chillies
  • Black salt or chat masala
  • Schezwan chutney (Optional)
  • Mayonaise (Optional)
  • Amul butter
  • Oil


  1. For making coriander chutney.
  2. Rinse 1 cup green coriander leaves and 2 to 3 green chillies, wash them thoroughly.
  3. Take a blender, Add all the ingredients such as cilantro, green chillies, ginger, garlic, ½ tablespoon chaat masala and grind them.


  1. Wash potato, and add it in a pressure cooker, cook them until 2 whistle comes.
  2. Drain the water, peel the potato well and make a thin slice of potatoes to add in sandwich.
  3. Nicely wash all the veggies like cucumber, onion, tomatoes, beetroot, capsicum etc.
  4. Now finley slice them in circle.
  5. Take a bread In the base, Spread amul butter and green chutney with spreader or spoon whatever you prefer with.
  6. If you want you can also add mayonaise on the base if don’t then skip.
  7. Now add beetroot, capsicum, onion tomatoes, cucumber and potatoes.
  8. Then sprinkle chat masala on the ingredients added in the sandwich.
  9. Now cover the sandwich with another slice of bread coated with butter and green chutney.
  10. Take a sandwich toaster, Add amul butter and then add sandwich close them, heat both slide in medium flame for 3-4 mins.
  11. After that remove the sandwich out from the toaster, Add amul butter on the top of it.
  12. Cut them using knife into 4 pieces or 2 pieces according to the size of bread.
  13. Serve the hot sandwich with green chutney and tomato ketchup.

  • If you don’t want toast sandwiche skip the toasting part, Immediately cut with the knife add green chutney and ketchup and serve.
  • You can also sprinkle fine sev on top.
  • Always use fresh bread which is soft.
  • Green chutney can be replace with schezwan chutney.
  • While making green chutney you can add green chillies according to your taste and you can also add fresh mint leaves for minty flavour.
  • The veggies which are added can be use of one’s own choice of vegetables because there are people who don’t like beetroot or capsicum so you can avoid adding them.
  • If you don’t have butter then you can use oil also but I would suggest using amul butter or ghee.
  • Cheese, Mayonnaise are the extra ingredients which you can add to bring more taste in the sandwich.
