Sabudana khichdi | How to make Sabudana khichdi


Sabudana khichdi is something special dish which we make casually also and in our fast also

Like we Indians have a tradition of fasting. As In Shravan most of us keep fast as well as on any occasions such as Navratri etc we generally keep fast and prefer to eat sabudana khichdi. This dish is not only delicious but also have health benefits…This is one of the source of energy for them who keeps fast

Other than that It is very easy to make sabudana khichdi…It hardly takes 30 mins to get ready and tastes good…I am sure once you make it you will all like it and also you won’t wait for fasting to eat the dish. So let’s not waste much time and start preparing today’s menu…..

INGREDIENTS for Sabudana

  • Sago (Sabudana) 250 g
  • Peanuts
  • Potato
  • Tomato
  • Green Coriander leaves
  • Green chilli
  • Curry leaves
  • Cumin seed
  • Rock salt
  • Black pepper 10-12
  • Sunflower oil


• Take a pan

• Firstly roast the peanuts nicely till it gets turn brown in colour in medium to low flame

•Then in the pan, add oil

•Add cumin seed half tablespoon, green chilli, curry leaves

•Add potato and cover with lid

•After the potato get half cooked, add the chopped tomatoes

•Then add rock salt(sendha namak) and crush the black pepper nicely and add into it

•Cook until the oil gets separated

•Add sago(sabudana)and close the lid and cook it for 2 min in low flame

•Grind the roasted peanuts lightly(Don’t grind too much)

•Add the peanuts and close the lid again and cook for 5 min in low flame

•Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot

•Do not roast the peanuts in high flame otherwise the peanuts will remain raw from inside and outside it will seem like it has cooked

•potatoes and tomatoes should be finely chopped

•You can use normal salt if you are not eating it on fast
