WHEAT MATHRI RECIPE INTRODUCTION:
Mathri is very popular Rajasthani deep fried snack. It is generally made with wheat flour and kasuri methi.
This deep fried snack has a very long shelf life and without preservatives you can store it like any other biscuits.
This recipe is very crispy, and have somewhat similarities like biscuits and cookies.
This snack is best served in tea time with tea or if you are about to travel somewhere you can carry it and this snack will be a great option at snack time.
There are various variety of snack which is available in India and also people make it at home on any particular occasions or festivals.
I have made this snack because it is tastiest and also suitable for anyone of us and it will not cause any problem with respect to digestion or many other.It is healthy and can be served to kids also.
So follow step by step procedure and get a best tea time snack for yourself and your family within 30 mins of time and you can also make it in little quantity so that you can eat atleast for 4-5 days.
- Wheat flour 1cup
- Semolina/Rava 6 tablespoon
- Gram flour/Besan 2 tablespoon
- Carrom seed
- Dry fenugreek leaves/kasuri methi
- Salt as per taste
- Black pepper powder
- Luke warm water
RECIPE FOR MAKING WHEAT MATHRI:
•Take a deep container so that you can easily mix all the ingredients and make a dough.
•After taking the container,Add wheat flour 1 cup, then 6 tablespoons semolina and 2 tablespoons gram flour.
•Add salt, crushed black pepper, carrom seeds,dry fenugreek leaves.
•After adding the ingredients, Add 6-7 tablespoons of oil.
•Crumble and mix thoroughly with your palms for atleast 4-5 mins.
•Now take some amout of flour in your hand and see that whether it is able to take a shape without breaking.
•If yes then oil is properly mixed,Now you need to add luke warm water and make a dough.
•While adding water do not add excess water otherwise the dough will becomes very much soft or watery.
•Always keep in mind the dough should be little hard.
•Now, After making dough, Add little oil onto the dough and keep it aside for 5 mins.
•Then, Take a small dough and using your thumb make a small roll.
•Heat a pan, Add oil and add mathri
•Fry in low flame, both side.
•Fry until the colour becomes light red from both side.
•Mathri is ready, you can serve with tea or anything of your choice.
•You can even store it for eating later.

- If you want to store this snack use a aur tight container to store it otherwise it will be no more crispy and taste will get changed.
- The dough for the recipe should be hard (Not too much).
- You can also make sev puri with the same for that you need to roll it little thin and deep fry.
